if anyone needs a music maker program, click here

I recently came across a program called anvil studio, that lets you create music files(mainly midis but also wave files). you can record stuff, and place them into the music file itself. you can compose music in a few different ways, like on a sheet of music, as dots on a page(percussion), you can press keys on a virtual piano keyboard or use guitar strings to make notes. It can even teach you how to read music! best of all, it's not a demo or shareware! It's free! even to upgrade! the installation file is only 3.34 mb. I'll try to find the address to it again. I think it's on download.com. if you or I can't find it, I can send you it through email if that is easier for you. anyway, I thought it would be nice for all you developers to have this for your games under development. I know I would. good luck with your development!

P.S. This isn't an advertisment. just so you know.

Ah, the good old days.

I remember using Anvil before Sibelius.

You can also find it on www.rpgwolfpack.com ya know.

The only thing I didn't like about Anvil is how hard it was to make each separate instrument play together in a track. I tried using it for my GCSE Music Compositions, but it just wouldn't work...

This isn't something with open source code, and unlikely to be used in web design. MOVED BACK

actually lenny, something's wrong with www.rpgwolfpack.com. I couldn't access it. so you say that you use "Sibelius" now? ok then, where do I get it?

P.S. I stuck this in the rpgmaker2003 section because the developers might not look anywhere else to find music makers for their game.

The site is working fine for me.

Sibelius is a proper music program. It's better to use it if you really know your way around Music. If you want it then the only way to get the full version is to either buy it or illegally download it.

Atm the latest version I have been able to download is 3.1. The newest version is 4 but I can't seem to get it.

I know that 3.1 lets you save as MIDI's (writes it in note form), not sure about 4.

You'll have to search long and hard to find something that is free and matches Sibelius.

The latest version is Sibelius 4 and is around $600. You can get minor upgrades for each version (for example, a new playback function or a new MIDI set), but can't upgrade from Sibelius 3.1 to Sibelius 4.
