Nominations

This may not go, but I'd like to give it a shot.

Nominate one pwn game for each category. After sufficient time, I'll make a poll, and we'll go from there.

You can only nominate one game per category, and don't bother nominating something that's already been nominated as all they are are nominations. If a game falls into multiple categories, then it can be fielded in multiple categories. If we need to debate the categorization of a game, we will do so.

Categories for which to nominate a pwn game:
1) RPG
2) Action
3) Adventure
4) Sports
5) FPS
6) MMOG
7) Multiplayer (Any game with great multiplayer)
8) Fighting
9) Strategy
10) Racing
11) Platform
12) PS2
13) Xbox
14) Gamecube
15) SNES
16) PC

Each category will have 1 winner. Those winners will be divided randomly into pairs of 2, and we'll begin voting for the best game ev4r!

Well, Secret of Evermore doesn't hold up to Secret of Mana. It's a good game, but it's just not as fun. The music's not as good. The storyline isn't quite as involved.

I would have rather put Chrono Trigger or FF6, but I assumed they would be nominated in their own due time.

Speaking of which, we have 6 sets of nominations. I'll make the polls tonight when I get off work (or while I'm at work if it's really fucking boring) if we get a couple/few more sets of nominations.

Either way, you put Secret of Mana twice, when Secret of Evermore is obviously superior.

Exactly. If you consider WHEN the games were made, Secret of Mana might be better, because it's much older than Secret of Evermore, but if you're just thinking about which game is better, Secret of Evermore wins. Secret of Mana has so much repeatativeness in it, I remember fighting the same bosses over and over, and all that was different was their color.

Secret of Evermore has an amazing story, amazing characters, an amazing world, and amazing music. Not to mention amazing humor. This is humor unlike EARTHBOUND, that horrible game that people seem to love for some reason. This humor is actual humor.

So, clearly, Secret of Evermore wins.

No, Earthbound has technicolor gang members and weird buzzards and giant rats that like to attack you.

Honestly, Earthbound sucked as an RPG. Overall it wasn't too bad of a game, but it's shameful to call it an RPG.

There was also a beast dog, a greyhound thing, and a toaster dog that could shoot a bazooka. You can't beat that.
