General Ideas (Most of these not all ideas are from the books Worlds of wonder, Fiction writer's workshop, or how to write science fiction i just put there ideas into my own words. And they are really good books on how to write stories)
~ Make a list of anything you can remeber from your past
*(include everything even the things you dont wanna remeber)
~ Start keeping a Journal of your dreams
~if you cant remeber your dreams then you need to
1. start goin to bed earlier.
2.Before you go to bed think to yourself or say it out loud im gonna remeber my dream today before you go to sleep.
3.Get a pack of cards and practice simple memory games
(such as getting 8 cards 4 queens and 4 kings, shuffling the deck taking one out and looking at the cards to figure out which is missing its simple adding another deck makes it extremely harder for some reason )
(personally i think memory and ideas are linked due to I kinda have a bad memory and ive been seeing that the practices you have to do to create a better memory or recall ability has to do with your imagination 
4 When you do things observe and analyze everything around you and over familarize yourself with our world / customs /etc
5 (I got this from another site which i forgot and if they see this, or see it tell me so i can post the reference) Explore everything you can in life besides live life to the fulliest learn everything this life has to offer
6 a good story is a equal mixture of lies and truth (for a book / game, etc not for reallife take acting classes for that
