I was always told if you have to explain a joke it isn't funny.

Your joke was that palpatine couldn't be president because he already has been for 2 terms(bush.)

My joke was, you're never allowed 3 terms anyway, regardless of whether they are consecutive, like you said in your post. The word "consecutive" was unnecessary in your post, even though you are correct, you cannot have 3 consecutive terms, but a more precise statement would be you cannot have 3 terms.
