My joke was, you're never allowed 3 terms anyway, regardless of whether they are consecutive, like you said in your post. The word "consecutive" was unnecessary in your post, even though you are correct, you cannot have 3 consecutive terms, but a more precise statement would be you cannot have 3 terms.

But my reason for using the word consecutive was to ensure that people knew I was referring to Bush, and not mistakenly think I was talking about Clinton.

I'm sure everyone knows the Palpatine-Bush joke by now, but just in case, the word consecutively removed any doubt that I may be talking about Bill Clinton.
