If I meant Iraq, I would've said "toppled their economy" or "the economy of Iraq". The region is a reference to the surrounding area. Also, Iraq had to have an economy, otherwise, where would they get their weapons? That's right, exporting Petrol and Crude Oil constitutes an economy...
