I've been in Alton Towers for 12 hours...reading Harry Potter for 6...sleeping for 2...and stuck in traffic for 3. This is the only hour I get of free time today...
I like the way that the thread turned from on-opic to off-topic in less than three posts.
The world is only 3 posts away from being off-topic...
Oh ya Alton Towers, I know exactly where that is. I use to have a second uncle twice removed grandfather of my aunt's niece that live not 100 kilometeres from there. Bless his/her soul.
It's a weird theme park...or at least seems weird to me. I've grown up with Blackpool (only about 50 miles away) so am used to the rides all being right close together and the park being all concrete. Yet Alton Towers is more like some kind of park with rides dotted here and there.
You ought to go. It's a great place. And some of the rides!! We've got some wonderful pictures of me coming off rides with my hair all over the place because of the speed.
Look at these videos of a couple of the rides we went on:
Yeah but you live in America for christs sake. The land of supersized everything.
I live in England. You don't get many world record breaking coasters here. And we just don't have the population to go building hulking great things that need hundreds of millions of visitors a year so the owners can have the money to maintain them.
