Pre-release beatdown
Reply

I've got vB3.7.1 ready to go, but before we switch over, it needs a good shakedown. I need anyone with time to go over, post, click stuff, and report anything that seems to be broken.

Anyone with Full or Senior member status and about 25% activity can be a tester.

To start testing, click here; the authorization requires cookies, lasts 12 hours, and requires you to not logout from the normal forum (You have to log in to the normal forum with "Remember me" checked).

Yes. If it says Member with two marks under it, that's "full member"

If I could suggest a change, this might be in the skin though, but in the profile screen, the mouse overs for the "About Me, Statistics, etc" isn't really aesthetically pleasing. I feel it should be like the other links and underline and brighten.

Where?
Edit:
Oh, you mean the tabs. That's all YUI BS and I have no control over it, yet.

Not a problem as such, but how much control do you have over the menu in the User CP? Just wondering what the chances of some sort of collapse button (like with forum sections on the main page) on each section of the menu would be. At the moment (could just be the Mod one, though... then again, I suppose the Admin one will be a lot longer) it stretches down a long way.

Edit:
If I've confused you at all with my User CP comment, look at the boxes down the right hand side of the profiles - that's what I mean by collapsable.

Oh, and I think it only shows your last five reps.

---

On the profile screen again, right-hand side, the "Group Memberships" bow - again, nothing looks to be broken, but the way the groups are listed isn't very... nice, I suppose. Commas would solve it, or things on new lines.

---

The mod tools in the User CP, if I view deleted posts (and I imagine the same will happen for deleted threads... EDIT: Nope, trashcan_small.gif loads fine), the following image is a sexy red x: http://zelaron.com/testvb/forum/imag...c/trashcan.gif.

---

Oooh! I like how the little pictures show up in New Posts if there's a deleted post in the thread... though threads with new posts to be approved don't show up. How easy would it be to do in the future?

---

If I go to delete a post as spam, the following image doesn't load:
http://zelaron.com/testvb/forum/imag...c/tree_ltr.gif. That screen is nice, though. The same image doesn't work if I choose the regular "Delete Post" option.

---

Under Stats - "20 days to go until 100%". Just so you know, if you want to change the activity periods again.

---

The FAQ isn't fully updated - again, just so you know.

---

Calendar works poifectly - viewing AND adding events. Though is there no way to set the event type, if indeed you can? On the Private calendar, let's say you want to add in your Mum's birthday - you can't set the event to a birthday so that the cake shows next to it.

---

I imagine there's a reason for the Chatbox not loading from Quick Links, although it does when you open it by clicking the Chatbox title.#

---

Oh em gee! I logged out without an error! !

I say we keep the vBulletin emoticons, too - I've grown rather attached to them on other forums.

---

And that's all I can find that's bad.

No, tell a lie - width of boxes like the Quick Reply box, and boxes in which you put text (profile) and too big, and there seems to b a 10px? 15px? padding around the actual text entry box.

Other than that, I can't find anything else wrong.

It's only the mod stuff that makes it too long. I'm hesitant to edit that template as it tends to change a lot

No, you've just confused what you were talking about

Yes they do . They even show up here with 3.5.

Have you figured out exactly what that option does? All I see is the ability to ban users at the same time, which seems kinda pointless

Because only members qualify for cake

I can't find this. Maybe you're using WYSIWYG mode?

Fair enough.

Not in my mind. Are we both holding on to completely different sticks, here? Desn't really matter, though, because you're hesitant to change the template.

If a new user posts something that needs to be approved, I've never seen an instance where the thread s/he posted in shows in New Posts. I've always had to manually search for it, or follow the link from Mod CP.

Well, it saves you having to get rid of the posts and then navigate to a different screen to be able to ban them. And nope, I haven't, yet.

What about setting event type?

10px from the left, 19px from the top (and probably the same on the right and bottom).
