If a new user posts something that needs to be approved, I've never seen an instance where the thread s/he posted in shows in New Posts. I've always had to manually search for it, or follow the link from Mod CP.

Well, it saves you having to get rid of the posts and then navigate to a different screen to be able to ban them.
