"Off Topic"

Isn't it kinda odd that the majority of posts are made in the "Off Topic" Sub-forums? So... Wouldnt that kinda be like... On.... Topic... So the gaming forums are off topic... O_o

Well, this was originally greated as a gaming forum, and thats how it is staying. It used to be mostly DII, but since that is dying people are moving to the Off Topic forums, now.

I'm aware of that. Was around then. But I just felt like saying that.

This is logical.

However, "On Topic" and "Off Topic" do not imply any quantity of posts. Like games said, the topic is video games. It just so happens that there is a LOT more to talk about that are not video games, so there's more content.

So then you are all deviating from being on topic forever and will surely be the forum's demise. Bastards...

You're not making any sense. How's that for on the off-topic?

HOLD ON.
There's a very simple explanation for this. Within the schema of 'off topic' exist *every single topic that could possibly exist that isn't covered by another forum'. As there are *far* more 'off topic' topics than *on topic* topics, of course the addition of all posts made regarding those topics is going to be greater than the number of on topic topics.

I.E. If you have 600 topics, one of which is gaming, and each one of those 600 has one post, except that gaming has 200 posts, well, gaming has the most posts - but if you put all the 599 that aren't gaming into a single topic, and call it 'off topic', there will be more posts in it than in the 'gaming' topic, simply because of attrition.
