I love it since it was only on NES and although the graphics weren't revolutionary, the gameplay was unique. The only downfall that most players would get tired of is that you press the action button and get a list of commands(talk, search, item, status, equip, and a few others) and you have to go through that every time you want to do something. But you should still try it.
Here are 4 screen shots that show a few things in action. Use google search for Dragon Warrior 4 under the images tab and you can find more.
