I've played it already.

It is an alright action game, a little easy though... (I think they aimed for younger age groups...)

Does it follow the show's plot at all?

I can't answer that as I've never seen the anime...

Ed and Al is in a train... Also, the heavy built alchemist guy is introduced... that is also at the very beginning.

Sounds like it's a side story to the earlier parts of the show, as most games based on an anime are.

The show's really been picking up in the plot the last few episodes. If it was a 26 episodes series, the current episode 25 could've been close to the climax. Lucky for us viewers, the show's going to 52.
