Buying FF games
Reply
Posted 2008-05-10, 08:21 PM
I have a DS and am starting to buy a buch of FF games. On me list currently are:
FF Tactics Advances 2
FF I & II Dawn of Souls

I own:
FF III
FFCC Ring of Fates

What else do you suggest? Are there any other good ones that I can get? Just in case, the other systems I have access to are an Xbox 360 and , obviously, a computer. Mac OS 10.5 intel.

I'd advise getting a PS2 if you want to play the majority of FF games. They're very cheap these days ($50-$100, I think?), and you'll be able to play most of the main story games.

Sure, you could use emulators, but I don't know if there are any PS1 and PS2 emulators that work on the Mac - you may need to install Windows to run them.

Oh, and FFXII: Revenant Wings for the DS is supposed to be very good.

Buy a nintendo and a Final Fantasy cart. Or just play it on an emulator. Don't mess with any of the re-releases.
Also enjoyed 7,9,10,12.

Emulators suck though. I hacked my Ipod and put a gamebody emulator on it, and it was slow as heck with no sound.
I advise Asamin to get the ps2 because, as Lenny said, the majority of the FF games are for it, like FFX and FFXII

Yeah, finding a working NES and original FF cart sucks, too, unless you want to shell out some cash. Both are serious collectors items at this point. Too bad NESes died so often.

I would most likely have an NES if this wasn't so. I like it when my systems don't die. My DS has. I need to sit there ad practically punch my L button to make it work. So, no, I can't stack spells by myself in Ring of Fates.
