This is why I don't even bother trying to meet chicks in bars. Well, this, and the fact that single chicks who do the bar/club scene are generally tramps (an opinion likely influenced by the fact that I'm in goddamned Pittsburgh). I'm working on this whole "looking for smart, sexy girls at a museum or library" theory.

Sounds like the quest for the holy grail imo. Tell me if you are successful. Usually its a trade off between looks and smarts but there are occasionally some cuties that have some intelligence. You just have to be lucky to find them.

It's not simply looks and smarts, though. There's a level of charisma that must be there. If not, everything else just goes to hell. Take, for instance, a young lady that I worked with until very recently. She was attractive and intelligent (at least, I assumed so, as she is a pharmacy student), but she had the unfortunate tendency to use terms such as "gay," "retarded," and, well, "ballsack," in public at volume levels that were clearly unacceptable. Imagine the looks on the faces of suburban pharmacy customers when this pretty young intern refers to herself as a "retard" while engaging in a transaction or yells out "ballsack" while having a conversation in front of a line of 5 customers. And no, she does not have Tourette's Syndrome.
At any rate, back to my original point: looks and intelligence must be complimented by class...and I guess I'm going to be single for the rest of my damn life. Shit.

Well I suppose I consider charm to be a given. I was just refering to the fact that many beautiful girls are as dumb as hell and the not so good looking ones tend to be smarter. Either or could have some charisma/charm to them though.

There were chicks in the Vault too, otherwise that would defeat the entire purpose of the Vault.

Firstly, I can't believe a new member has actually showed up and continues to post decent material.

Secondly, not everyone is perfect. Looking for Ms. Perfect is just the wrong attitude. Everyone has their flaws, and granted, yelling obsenities isn't attractive, but I think you are taking it too far. I mean, I can agree with "ballsack", because that's just classless, but "retard" and "gay"? Who really cares? I wouldn't immediately take her off the possible gene pool reproduction list. My guess is that she is still young, and hasn't matured to the level you consider yourself to be.

If you find someone in the library or museum as you're trying right now, I'm happy for you, but don't hold your breathe. Even if you do, she'll probably end up being a complete bore, unless that's what you're looking for?

Meeting women in bars and/or clubs is normal. It's a social scene that is a common forum for meeting possible friends and love interests. Most of them aren't keepers, but it's more possible and likely to meet someone there than in museums and libraries...

The way I see it, a woman spending time in a library or museum is providing evidence that she is cultured. Likewise, from my perspective, a woman spending time in bars is providing evidence that she drinks, which doesn't impress me all that much.
I'm not saying I want some chick that lives at the library, hiding in the stacks from the dual terrors of human contact and sunlight. It may be a surprise to some that a good number of the librarians in my classes (yes, I'm working on a masters degree in library science, for those who weren't aware), are quite attractive young ladies - who all unfortunately are already wearing rings. Of course, the majority of those enrolled in the MLIS program are unattractive middle-aged women, as one might expect (with the exception of a few milfs).
I guess my point (not that I have one worth mentioning) is that librarians can be hot.
Again, let us not forget the fact that I live in a blue collar city that aspires to be great, but just isn't cutting it. Oh, and "yinz" = you (plural). Try taking a drunk girl seriously when she drawls out "What yinz guys doin?" or "Tha' ain't no Camero. If he ain't driving no Camero, I ain't talkin' to him." I think I'm done now...

By the way, thanks for the "decent" comment.

Yinz? I've heard "youze"

Anyway, why are you trying to take drunk girls seriously?

Touche, sir. Touche.

As for "yinz," it's the result of a regional dialect confined to this portion of Appalachia. The dialect seems to be the result of a high population of Polish in the area. It's quite bizarre to interact with someone fluent in "Pittsburghese."

I ll be honest with you, when i started attending college, i wasnt a big drinker, so i was on the look out for the girls in the library and such. I met one at the library and we ended up talking and getting closer. We ended up having a pretty decent relationship together (about 4-5 months), but she wasnt cultured or actually smart. She did drink and did attend bars, much to my dismay. So do not assume that if a girl is in the library, she will contain all those traits. Most college people that are in the library are there to study and get the fuck out. I know that was my case. Im not trying to put you down, but just dont think that a library girl automatically means that she is cultered/smart/ kinky.
