Films about books are ALWAYS awful, unless the book really is shite, and the film had a director with such vision that, well, theyt can make it good.
Example: LotR. It's a hard slog. Lots of people will hate the books because of that (I couldn't give a rats arse. Books are too good to hate.

), and so like the films more.

Jarhead as a book might not be as good as the film, for the fact that films about real life are often very good, whereas books about the same can have very little appeal... to me, anyway.
No-one else find this to be true for them?
