There is a HUGE difference between the two of them: Xbox Live. It's the reason that we still play it. The matchmaking system is brilliant for the most part, and the almost infinite variations of gameplay (especially with custom games) keep things constantly new. The single player campaign may not be that different, but who still plays the Halo2 single player anyway?
