Paladin Build

I'm making a Human Paladin. What sort of skills am I going to shoot for? Is there a cookie-cutter build, or are there a couple of choices? Also, I want to go enchanting, but also blacksmithing... How viable is blacksmithing without mining? Should I abandon my enchanting idea altogether? I've heard it's really expensive and not really worth it all that much... Is that true?
