I once saw this video of a 70+ y/o alligator wrestler (female) sit on her porch during a hurricane...it was weird and awesome.

maybe they have a list of names, and people just have a poll on which to name it

They go by alphabetical order. For instance, the sixth hurricane of the season will have a name that starts with an F.
