Importing Images
Reply

I'm new at this program, and I'm trying to import battle sprites and enemies, but sometimes, the background color appears with the image. I've set all of the backgrounds to be the exact same color, and all of the images are 256 colors or less. Also, they are all in .PNG format. The color seems to appear at random amongst images. Could someone tell me what the problem is, and how to fix it? Thanks in advance.

This question gets asked a lot, actually. Added it to the FAQ:

Q. When I go to use an image, it sometimes has a square around the image I'm using. This border color is the same as the background for the PNG file I'm using.

A. You need to set the transparency. When you import the image, you'll get a preview of how the file looks, with the ability to zoom in and out. At that point, click on the background - when it flashes, that means it's transparent. The border won't appear around the character again.
