I would suggest staying to the South in the beginning stages of the game. The rest of the world is too hard in general until you are at least a level 5 or so...
None. Adding new areas isn't a priority at all right now.

No, the last feat the game has to offer for me has been vanquished. The Chasm no longer strikes fear in my eyes. Can't wait for storyline and quests now.
I had one particular problem, and it only occurred once actually. When I was in a battle with a Gillomantis, is didn't let me perform any actions. Not Attack, Defend, Potions, or Escape...
Hasn't happened again since, but that sucked.
Oh, and I definitely noticed the battle turn, after all, that was 4 of my 8 suggestions!
Whoa, maybe I'm reading this wrong. You started with 936. You self healed to 939. Then you got hit for 5, which is 934. Then you self healed to 939, then hit again for 6, which 933. Now what seems to be the problem here?
Nothing is wrong, except for the numbers showing off that you've healed more than your maximum life, but it gets capped anyway. For instance, take this part:
Jessifer said:
Actual HP: 934/939
Jess takes a defensive stance and self-heals 45 HP!
Gharolian attacks and deals 6 damage to Jess!
Gharolian attacks Jess but misses completely!
Actual HP: 933/939
At first, Jess self-heals and gets full life. Any extra HP that goes above 939 gets capped off at 939. Next, the Gharolian attacks and deals 6 damage. 939-6=933. It seems perfectly right to me.

Okay. I was just reading it wrong, then. My allergies are clouding my judgement. But...that doesn't explain when the monster attacks and misses me, I still sometimes loose HP.

Maybe it attacks you multiple times, and it misses one blow and deals damage from the rest of the attacks? I've never encountered a problem like this either.
