I'm not saying this is true, but I heard this whole ordeal was fake. Supposedly, the Bush administration made the story up to gain support of the US citizens. When this whole thing happened, the war was starting to go sour(our soldiers started to die, etc.) -- so they introduced Jessica Lynch!
That's just what I heard, I'm not sure what to believe.
