I'm planning on joining the squad, but I can't tonight, only have 5 minutes left before I got to go for the night (high school, having a life is ghetto), but I will be back at around 2:30 pm pst tomorrow. If there's any info I need to know, please post it here.

Damn, guess your gonna have to count me out. There's no way in hell I could download over 200 megs in 1 day (ragnarok is larger than this, and the DL for it was about 14 hours, but I gave up after 2 hours), so the only way I could play is if someone in the Tacoma, Washington area has the complete thing on a cd so I could install it, or my only other choice is to leave it on all night, then still leave it on while im at school, but still... I'm not even sure it would run. The thing said 8 mb video card (anyone know about a Tnt2 card? I can't afford a Nvidia Geforce4 Ti...yet), But oh well, guess it's back to mechwarrior 3 for my fps needs. BTW, anyone play mech3?

You know you can go to an Army Recruiters office and pick up a copy of the game for free?
Also It say's in the FAQ that TnT2 is not supported, but if you got like 800 mghz or so and 128+ ram I can make it work just fine for you, ask Knight Rider about that.

My processor speed is 700 (though mechwarrior 3 says its 300, and d2 says its 703, go figure), so I i guess that totally takes me out for this, unless I want to sacrifice having cable (parents getting it soon yay), I can't play. Of course, if anyone wants to loan me 165.14, or hire me as a worker I could get a Pentium 4 processor, but oh well. Guess I'm gonna have to hope I get one for chrismas. Anyways, might as well let you know system specs, well as far as I can remember.

700 AMD Duron processor
320 RAM (64 + 256)
15 gig hard drive
52x Cd-Rom

and the worst part...

56k Internet connection (kill me now please, this ruins most of my FPS fun)

EDIT: I think walking into a recruiters office just to snag a cd then leave is kinda... rude.

Actually the recruiters will be more then happy to give you the CD and you walk out, because the game IS a recruitment tool, made for that purpose.
Also I seriously think I can get AA running on your comp and very playable online with a few graphic card tweaks, and AA config tweaks.

Could you please put the tweaks required here? I found out that there is a nearby recruiters office so that I wouldn't have to download.

BTW, I found the system info tool that comes with the Mechwarrior 3 Cd:

MACHINE INFORMATION

Machine Details
===============
Executable name : E:\EXTRAS\SYSINFO.EXE
Current time, date : 14:38:25 Tuesday 9/10/2002
Executable time, date : 11:26:52 Tuesday 5/4/1999
User name :
Machine name : Computer
Processor : AuthenticAMD Pentium II MMX - 350Mhz
Operating system : Windows Millennium Edition
Version : 4.90.3000
Time since booted : 0h 7m 6s
Physical memory : 335,032,320 bytes (319 Meg)
Available physical memory : 216,690,688 bytes (206 Meg)
Swapfile size : 1,812,447,232 bytes (1728 Meg)
Swapfile available : 1,757,020,160 bytes (1675 Meg)
Virtual memory : 2,143,289,344 bytes (2044 Meg)
Available virtual memory : 2,126,905,344 bytes (2028 Meg)
Memory load : 25%

CD-ROM Drive :
Desktop video mode : 800,600 16bpp
Networked Machine : No

Anyways, I think it's confused about processor speed, because the D2 system info says processor is 703 mhz. So, I just need the required "tweaks". If you need any other info, just tell me what else you need.

goto your start menu, then goto RUN, and type in dxdiag
that will give you the most accurate info on your comp

Up there you said TNT2 isn't supported, so why would I want to get one? Might as well just get Geforce 2 since Geforce 4 costs 100 or 400, 400 is the Ti 4800 one. Funny how the NVidia site doesn't even say how much Geforce 2 costs, but just gives the specs. Anyways heres what Compucare.com says:

Chaintech GeForce2 MX400 AGP 64MB
NVIDIA® GeForce2™ MX400, 64 MB SDRAM, 4x/2x AGP.

Price:$79.99

Visiontek GeForce 2 MX PCI 32MB
Xtasy 5332™ features the NVIDIA® GeForce MX200 chip.

Price:$69.99

Both TnT2 cards they got are 39.99 and 49.99, for 30 dollars more I could get a non crappy Geforce 2 card. But that still brings up the previous issue of me not having any money.

no your thinking the 9700 is expensive... the 9700 is priced to compete with geforceTI cards and the 9000 is priced to compete with geforceMX cards. and the 9000pro has a few things like pixel shaders that the MX card does not... you know how much better morrowind looks with pixel shading? look at a screenshot of the water with an MX and then with a 9000

RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB $399
RADEON 9000 PRO 64MB $149

GeForce4 TI 4600 128MB $299
GeForce4 MX 440 64MB $72

When I bought my MX however it was awhile back it cost $149 I shouldve just stuck with my TNT2 and got the 9000pro or actually saved up and got the 9700 (which is sold out by the way)
