Math Challenge # 2

This one should be a bit easier. However, it's also easier to find on the internet, so no cheating! And I suppose this is more physics, but meh...

Find an equation for the escape velocity under variable gravitational fields using the laws of classical mechanics.

Mechanics is a branch of Mathematics.

I reckon a couple of the SUVAT equations will feature in the working out of this problem.

Ha! eat that quadratic for breakfast!

How the fuck do you make the 2 a superscript on a keyboard? I couldn't even find it on the windows character map.. I want to make it squared!

Unless you've got the function in the text editor, I don't think it's possible, unless you post it as a picture.

EDIT: Tell a lie, it's in the Windows Character Map... well, Vista's, at least.
