How can I set up my XBox to play HALO online without XBox Live? My brother told me to go to XBConnect, but I can't figure out what to do really? All I did was use an Ethernet Cable to connect my XBox to the back of my computer. Is there anything else I need to do or have? It says it can't find my XBox when it searches for it. I am using a Wireless Router, so could that possibly be the problem?
....are you trying to use your computer as a server to the xbox? and if so the router is going to have to be reproframed for port forwarding for it to work, i'll take a look at that xbconnect.
It might work but only if you're on a LAN, so unless your 16 buddies are int he same buildign as you I doubt it would work for more than 4
EDIT- Oh yeah does anybody know whats the deal with ps2 game sthat are for 4-8 players? do you connect 2 ps2s or you get somethign that elts you put more controllers? whats the deal.

Honestly, I don't know. I don't know what I'm supposed to do, or how to go about doing it. Any help is appreciated.
seems pretty simple:
** get your xbox on your lan (easy)
**download there software and install it ( sounds easy)
** start xbox and game, go into muti player / system link
I'am gonna try this out after I buy 50 or so feet of cat5 cable.
Call me simple, but how exactly to I "get my XBox on my LAN"? Is it simply connecting the Ethernet cable from the XBox to the computer, or am I way off base. In case you haven't noticed, I'm not the most computer savy person on the block. Some of the simple things still confuse me.
you'll have to do either 1 of these things.
buy another network card for your computer and set it up to server the xbox ( i'am not sure how to do that)
or buy enought cat5 cable to run a line from the router to the xbox.
Well, your internet sharing. What OS are you using?
Here are some faqs that can help, they are for the PS2 but it works the same for an Xbox im sure. OR atleast along the lines.
Connect your XBox directly to your router, and connect your PC[/b] directly[/b] to the router too. Then follow the XBConnect instruction for further detail on how to enter games. It's not too hard. I've used XBConnect quite a few times before I got Xbox Live.
It was determined that my Ethernet cable is the not the right one. I need a crosscable one, and mine is a straight through. WW told me, so I'm figuring I need to purchase that item before anything else can happen.
Well, that is actually the problem. The Router does have ports, but it is two floors below my room, and I would need a shit load of wire to run it to my XBox. Oh well.
