Post Animal Crossing...the best game on Gamecube?

Do you like the game? My friend has a Gamecube and I played it at his house. I found it mildy interesting but I didn't expect that it was one of the biggest selling Gamecube games of all time! Do you think I am correct? Or is the game a dud? Post your reasoning.

Fun as heck.. for a while. Then you basically run out of stuff to do. And the animals keep repeating stuff, so you never have a reason to talk to them again.. and eventually, you get your house exactly the way you want it, which unfortunately is pretty much the goal. Lasted me like a month straight but haven't played it since.. no point in just storing up Bells for no reason.

It's an awesome game, that dissolves slowly into a dud..

in the cartoon channel they rated this game a 10 out of 10!!!(even ny of the mario games i.e. mario sunshine (wich was rated 9,5) no mario game has hit 10) i haven't seen any other game get a scoring like that, so i am guessing you SHOULD buy the game even if it is bad or good, if its just too much of a kids game just give it as a gift to your brother or something.

Yes, I had thoughts about the game first but then I played it at Jamesadin's house and all I had were positive thoughts after that!

I bought it right away and played it for a good month straight. Then I started playing it once every few days, then once every 3 months, and now it's packed away in a box. I'm sure my house is full of cockroaches now.

I think it would be a lot more fun if you lived with 3 other people who all made characters as well.

Heh, I have a GameCube (I actually have all 3 of the newer systems), but I never picked this game up. In fact, the only game that I've really ever played (and beaten, if you care) on GC was the new zelda game. Maybe I'll pick this game up.. might give me something to do.

It's a fucking fun game, you just need to pace yourself. Don't go overboard playing this for three hours every day. If you play it in moderation, for like an hour every day (or every other day) I can see somebody playing this game for more than a year. Fuck, I still play it about once a week, and I've had it for over a year.

Are you obsessive or something? I cant play a game for a year even if i played just for one min a day every day! What is so good about htis game anyway. I dont see a point behind it.

dam i guess this game is good!! in the game if it tell you to come back another day, can you not just change the date and time of the Gcube and just play again?? i here that in the game the sun is set JUST like in real life, if it is about 7pm right now, in the game the sun would almost set so when a person in the game tells you to come back the next day, they mean COME BACK THE NEXT DAY. thats probably why it takes years to beat!!

ps what IS the point of the whole dam game anyways??0_o

I like well-designed games, and Animal Crossing has that in spades. It's brilliant. It takes the ideas crafted by games like The Sims and it gives it an immesurable amount of character. There's just a ton of stuff to do, and it's presented in a very original and fun fashion. How can you not love the idea of sitting down to play The Legend of Zelda in your personally-furnished "vacation home" on the secret island off the coast of your town, which you can only get to by hitching a ride on a boat captained by a pirate turtle? It's just plain awesome.

Meh, fun for a month. People say that there are no 3rd party games for Gamecube because Nintendo steals everyone's thunder with the big ticket killer apps. God, I went to Walmart, Super K, and EB Games, and there was NOTHING I wanted to even put in layaway. Not even F-Zero GX! WAY TO TAKE OUT THE NETWORK PLAY, THE WHOLE REASON TO BUY A NON-CAR COMBAT VEHICLE GAME, NINTENDO! Fuck splitscreen! Fuck you, Nintega! You dashed my hopes! Let's hope Mario Kart isn't such a clusterfuck.
