It really all depends on what level Holy Shield and what level you're going to be.

Assuming level 85 and +35% block from Holy Shield, you'll want about 114 DEX.

Here is my math, so you can check for errors:

Dex=(Clvl*2)*T+15
____________
B

Dex = 114
Clvl = 85
T = Total blocking (40% before Holy Shield + 35% from Holy Shield = 75%)
B = 82% Blocking on HoZ (Base 52% on Zakarum shield + 30% Chance to block from HoZ mods).

....................
Total Blocking = (Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)
(blocking = shield block + armorblock + holy shield)

My formula should be correct, as I just reversed the equation for DEX rather than Total Block...

I get a result of 47% for Total Blocking when using your formula.

Check my equation reversal? It's been so fucking long since I did that...

I'm not 100% sure on the accuracy of that, as of now.

my formula is targeted at a more precise amount as you forgot the variable of "desired block percent" which i dont see in your equation, the correct equation to fig out required dex is:

{[.75(2*Clvl)]/total blocking} + 15 = Dex required <--derived from total blocking formula

Right, my equation was derived from the same formula, I just seem to have gotten a different result when reversing it to solve for Dex.

Fuck, it's been years since I've done equation work. I need to go back to school...
