Not bad, but I'm pretty sure you'll grow tired of it soon. It's a pretty stressful field to be in, most of the people in homes are really lonely and/or crazy. One of the old bags in the one here just wheels around all day yelling "Help me" as loud as she can, it's really obnoxious. PRN is the shorthand version of "As needed", so you'll likely be up/down a few hours week to week. All in all I wish you luck, but I can't see you sticking around long, it's very tiresome work. Just be glad you're not in the care-giving side of it.

I can see what you're saying, man.

BUT, I don't know if you saw the part where I said my mom is the assistant dietary director(she has been there for 10+years), if anything goes wrong at all, she knows how to fix it. The nursing home I work in has had 0 deficiencies for the past 5 years in a row(although i'm sure it has changed this year).

My brother works there too, I just don't see him as much. He does something called care plans. I'm kinda confused about what it is, i just think he does assessments on the residents and shit. So, a job with my moms and my brother(the only 2 in my household) is a great deal. The old people are nice, generally. We don't allow any bi-polar ones, and none that are crazy as they could hurt the other residents(we let most of them roam free about their sections). The only close-to-crazy ones we have are all stuck downstairs, they are the ones with Alzheimer's. They just walk around and shit(ALL females, a few years ago there was an incident where they kept finding the old-guys in the girl's rooms with them late late at night).

I'm just on my feet all day.

Haha, on that last note, good story from one of my co-workers, she worked in a nursing home a couple towns over, they had this one resident who would always bother the nurses for help over nothing, so they kind of blew her off since she'd stop eventually. Well, one day she just wouldn't stop hitting her button and yelling, so they went to go check on her. Apparently there was some fairly young guy in her bed having sex with this old bat. She kept yelling at them to get him off of her, but when they did and the police took him away, apparently she asked her to "Have him come back later" *shudder* Creepy.

LOL.

Yeah, one of the residents here was raped I guess.

Its fucking sick. Well, we did research and shit and i guess the resident was just lieing her ass off, but I dont know what to believe(it was years ago).

Also, one of the residents every day at lunchtime always wants to be fussed over.

She was given chicken salad on toast as requested on her ticket, she said she didn't want it and asked for something not on the menu.
My brother asked my mom if we had it back there, and she was like nope.
Momz was saying how she does this all the time and she's gonna ask for ham and cheese sandwich, she did and she got it.
Next, she requested for the cheese to be taken off(so we had to throw it away), and she got that.

Then, (the best part), she ate the ham, and gave the 2 pieces of break back to my brother and said there was no ham on the bread.

She just wants attention from time to time, i can't blame her.

That's awesome If you like it! I don't really like the "smell" of old people...but when I was a kid I used to have to go to one once a week in WY with the school. Then I had neighbors that were elderly (the wife had Alzheimers and would alwasy ask me if i wanted the blinds closed lol.) and I would go visit them every now and then, until the husband passed and the wife went to a home. I like to knit, I'd probably get fired from a job like that where I could ask the old ladies questions and such (as I basically know one stitch lmao).

Oh, and When i was 15 I was making like 6.60 and hour at Baskin Robins Loved that job, boss was an ass though.
Your fucking stupid

I don't think I even got a job until I was 17. Maybe 16, I can't remember, main reason being I was always baked.
