The guy never had a reason to live, if Harry Potter was what his life was based around. Isn't everyone forgetting one very important factor here. Suicide is legal. The guy did what he wanted, that should have nothing to do w/ tightening the flow of information in those books.

Yea, punishment would be like.. insurance companies refusing to payout death claims because of it.

I know that it differs by state. I'm not going to get into it but the fact that some states are on the verge of legalizing ASSISTED suicide tells me that regular suicide is a passe taboo now.
