I'll also throw out the names of a few British Indie bands (completely different to Slipknot): Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Ting Tings, Dirty Pretty Things, The Libertines (an absolute MUST listen to), Primal Scream, Editors and Maximo Park. The American Indie bands Cage the Elephant and Cold War Kids are also worth a listen. Find some of their songs on YouTube.
