why 3 LL 08, when you can get 6LL on the 09 crafts?
It depends on the type of barb you are aiming for. Ik gaunts are great, you really don't need anything else.
However, a pair of 9 str 15 dex 6 LL gloves are also very nice, and if you plan on berserk, 20ias will also come in handy.

Those are incredibly expensive, and are superior gloves in some but not all situations. IMO ik gaunts are perfectly sufficient.
