RPG Maker 2003 online?
Hey is it possible to make an RPG that you can play with friends online? That would be pimp!
________ vaporizers |
yes.....that WOULD be "pimp"
Nope you cant but you mihgt be able to in rpg maker xp. See my other thread for details.
Unless they add new scripts (like "Get [xxxx:Blah] from Player2 [xxxx:Something]) for grabbing data over the internet, multiplayer (or even just online play) isn't going to happen.
Yes but if you can create your own scripts which I believe you can, you can use the call script feature at like every opportunity which will still make it possible to make an online game.

Thanks for the info, but RMXP won't be out for like 40 million years(over exaggeration) and I can't wait that long.
Looks like you got another tutorial Bluecube:D Pleeeease!!! ________ RM250 |
It cant be too long to translate i'd say a few months???
I once saw a tutorial at GW to make a RM2K game online...at least I think it was GW...I really dont' remember where...but I saw one.
What if you could make it so the score at the end of the game would be sent to a website so people can see how well they fare against teh rest of the gaming population? And can there be ways of downloading content to be used in the game?
Thanks for any and all info.:D :haha:  :cyborg: ________ YZ250F |
The problem would lie in whether or not there IS a script available to call things from over the internet (even if it has to be from a specific IP). Actually, it'd probably have to be more like "Send [xxxx:BlahVariable] to [IP:127.0.0.1], Wait for confirmation".
Definitely not GamingW, since the only online tutorial there is for RPG Toolkit..
Hey thanks for the info, but I think I will leave that out of my game for now. If I see it as something that would be a great advantage, then I'll add it, but as of now, it is unimportant. Well Happy Game making!
