Armor choice
 

What armor is better for a Hammerdin? Choose between Skin of Vipermagi and Que-Hagan's Wisdom, or whatever it is called. I know everyone wants an Enigma but I am not very rich. Or is there a better armor other than Enigma that could be used, especially before lvl 60 or so?

Have never built a Pally for PVM so this is the first shot at it.

And, what boss, act, or monster will cause the most problems for a Hammerdin?

For your armor I think that Que-Hagans is better, but you can use the Skin of Vipermagi. Also no problems for you except a monster in act 3 that prolly will never encounter, he is in the middle. Also The maggot lair because it is small, so have someone help you.

I use upgraded Vipermagi. If you're ever on when I'm online (and not botting), I'll give ya a vipermagi... Bot picks em up, and I don't have any use.

Just get a Lem, a Ko, and a Pdiamond, and you'll have a ~800 def Vipermagi.

I have the two runes and can get a pdiamond. I have a vipermagi as well. Is this a cube recipe or something for ladder?

Another vote for vipermagi. The FCR is also a big plus.

Resistances won me over. It's what my hammerdin is gonna wear when he level 29. ^_^

well even though u said pick between que hagens and vipermagi, i would say vipermagi but there is another armor that is better and cheap which is the unique exceptional plate mail armor, not sure name but like templar something or i dunno but gives +1 pala and gives block stuff and +15 max res so u can get 90 res because i used that armor on my pala before i got enigma and it is good

yup i agree, go for templars might, not overly expensive but like sick def and good adds, so i say go for templars man, forget the viper and que

Okay, I will use the Viper from lvl 29 to 45 and then switch to Guardian Angel.

After 2 years of playing nothing but zons this will be interesting.

I would certainly not use Guardian Angel.

Sure, the Guardian has +15 to max resists, but it doesn't actually have any resists. It has lots more armor, but it's been said that resists are more important than armor in 1.10.

Do take note than an upgraded Vipermagi has ~800 defense. I'm sure an upgraded Guardian has a lot more than that, but, other than blocking, that's about all it has going for it.

Vipermagi has +1 skills, just as Guardian does, but it also has resists, faster cast, and magic damage reduction. Just my opinion though....

If you Up'd Guardian, keep in mind you'd have to drop more points into strength too....

well u can easily get 75 max resist withou the armor so once u have armor u can have 90 res, just use viper until u can use guard angel

did u not listen. if your not rich then u WILL BE USING A WIZZY which is an easy 75 res! so use that and a um'ed HoZ and u got like 150 res just there and a um shako and crednum or w/e set mithril coil belt w/ 15 all res u got MAX res and 90 res w/ guardian

No, you can only upgrade exceptional to elite on Ladder.

I'd disagree, tal armor belt ammy gives the highest I've seen.. armor 112 belt 11 with ammy 65 so that's 188 :grin: i think anyway... goldwrap 30 skullders(Assuming you have a level 99) 99+24 and an ammy well if you had a 40 ammy? 30+40+99+24= 193... although 5 mf more... tals gives +2 skills and also resist and some other stuff which I don't know because I'm in the library "studying" for exams :haha:


Although that had nothing to do with your question, I'd say ViperMagi. Gear doesn't always make the best chars... sometimes yes but skill > gear most of the time :x
