While wating for slow ass cow maker person I was playing around with wirts leg, it had 2 sockets and it had the grey lettering. I had my inventoy open and I saw the runes Tir and El. I thought it would be funny if I made a steel runeword in it, I did. THE FUCKIN THING DIDNT WORK. How can it not work, it had the grey lettering 2 sockets and sure as I am born Tir+El=Steel.
Why?
Suprisngly the cow level worked even with runes in it.

I don't think runewords work with quest specific items. If you could ever get a socket into the Hellforge Hammer you would not get anything different, just have the runes in it.

I'm 75% sure I've seen runeword wirts leg before. I know for a fact you can imbue it though.

I am not mad of loss of tir and el runes, I find them and use them to make steel runewords of 2 skt shit I find on the ground. Its funny to watch people pick up a wep wit a steel runeword over it and then throw it back down.
Who cares if its a quest item, why does it even drop with sockets most of the time.

To drive the kiddies bonkers, I'm sure...

I think I am going to have my hammer pally use one if I can find 2 resistances gems and a mana steal one.

Oh, Steel is for maces/swords/axes. It said not all mace class weapons though, only morning stars, maces, flails, exceptional/elite forms. Wirt's leg is a club. Cannot be created in a c lub i dont think.
