What is best merc for caster in 1.10??
 

I wana get my new pvp/pvm necro a good merc but im not so sure as to which one would be best suited for the task...? :confused:

Hmm right now my pvp enigma/bone necro is using an A1 Merc using BotD Hydra Blackhorns and 117/30 Ias armor seems to be fine...

what diff did you get her in? Also if you will post a screenshot of your nec and his items i wana see what you use compared to what i use.

I am using a a2 cold merc with shaft, gaze, and the unique cryptic axe (forgot the name after 2 month, tome reaver maybe?). works fine before, still works fine.

For PvP, you'd want a rogue.

For PvM builds, I'd go with a Holy Freeze A2 merc or Barbarian Merc from A5. Both are good at holding enemies in place.

id say either holy freeze act 2 merc or defiance act 2 merc
defiance act 2 is much easier to level, and he gets very hard to hit at high levels so he takes a lot of hits...also you benefit from the defiance as well

My PVM skelemancer uses a a2 might merc. When the aura gets activated the monsters go down alot faster.

For a good PvM Merc I would suggest a Defience Merc using a Doom Pole Arm so you have double the aura. Defence and Holy Freeze. :)

What difficulty? Hell or nm?

Defiance is a Normal or Hell Defensive.

Never heard of Doom PoleArm ....what the heck is it? rare or unqiue?

More useful than my post was. I'm insanely busy right now, with trying to get packed to move across the U.S. lol

what about for a pvm only javazon...would i need to use a might merc to boost my dmg, or get a barb to tank?

I pretty much only use might mercs. Only time I don't is with my blizz sorc (defiance).

I don't know about Doom for a necro that summons (i.e. skeles, resurect) With the cold damage you wouldn't have as much bodys lying around. You would need them for either your army, or for CE. Doom works well on other charaters' mercs, like a Strafe/Mulit Zon or any Melee build.

i suggest a1 cold merc with lots of ias...and cold ;) ;)

So will any of you nice people answer the question I have been asking all along? WHAT DIFFICULTY would i choose out of if i was to go with a act2 merc(cold) or a act1 merc??????

Hell for an A1 merc. Act2 Holy Freeze can only be found in Nightmare, and it's the Defensive merc.
