I'm really fucking pissed off right now. I friend of mine who is a bit younger than I, an old neighbor, just got diagnosed with diabetes. He's just a kid... an extremely smart, mature kid. He is 3 years younger than me, but he acts my age... but anyways... I know it is just diabetes (NOT fat kid diabetes)... it could be much worse. But it's just not FAIR!!!!

It isnt fucking fair that some crooked criminals can get away with murder and do wahtever they want and suffer no consequences, and some innoncent kid could get diagnosed by somthing terrrible like cancer and die... (just an example)

Anyways, its hpapend to three of my friends within a year and it has dramatically impacted EVERYTHING in their lives. It is stupid... I hate the way things like this work out. It won't always fucking be like this, at least not if I can help it. Shit like this makes me wanna be a doctor. I really fuckin' sweet doctor...

Im sorry to hear that :(. I knw its hard to live with diabetes but there are ways that he can control it and still live a normal life.

That's life and that's how life is. As sad as it may be.

I know K_A... everyone says that... and like i said, this is incredibly minor. But it woke me up to what could happen to anyone at any time. the kid is fuckin 12 and he already has enough problems yet he manages to be near perfect.

he's young...perhaps in the future he will have a way of getting around his disease...but for now i guess he has 2 live with it 4 now.

Yeah, he's young, by the time he's older there may be a cure for diabetes.

Well its just the way life is... some people come out lucky, some dont.

That really sucks. Life eats ass like that sometimes. The people that deserve to fucking die are up and running around, while the truly good people get shafted by the world. The fact is, it's not anything that the kid can't work through. It's certainly unfair, and it's definitely awful, but it's not crippling. It will only make him more determined in the end.

I think the world needs to take a hint from the ever-wise Carl Malone:

do any of you, ever get the feeling that there's some horrible disease crawlin through you. I do sometimes, im not depressed or something like that, but just feel that tommorow i will be dead or crippled by this thing

Actually i dunno if you guys heard about this, i may be wrong, but awhile ago i read an articile about how they CURED diabeties in mice... If i find the articile i'll be sure to post it here. I believe it was either in a recent Scientific American, or i just saw it in the newspaper... I wish i remember. But even if they did cure it in Mice, it would take years of testing on humans before FDA even thinks about looking into it. But i'm almost certain in 20-30 years, there'd be a cure. So feel better. (I know it's hard)

Thats sweet, cuz my mom had some 'type' of diabetes when she had me, but it went away, my cousin has it, and my uncle has it. It sucks, my cousin was 18, drinker, and she got it, she used to think that she was just drunk and she'd pass out. The fucking doctors told her that she was just wasted, they ran blood tests out their asses and they never-ever- told her it could be diabetes. Then one of her friends had brougt it up, they were curious, then went to the doc and sure enough, fucking type 2. She could have died at any time because of some stupid ass doctor.

But not its not bad, she takes her medicine like once a day and she's fine.

Type 2 diabetees isn't nearly as bad as type 1... and coincidentally type 2 is the kind that you get by doing something, not getting pwned up the ass by genetics.
