Braille
 

Braille is a form of writting used for the extrememly visually impaired and the blind. I am the first. I use braille all the time. People constantly say "damn that's hard" Its not. In case any of you kids at school get a blind/visually impaired kids at your school, don't go crazy when you see braille. I'll show you how to write it but reading it would recquire hands-on study. So here's a description of the letters.

I'll describe braille to those who haven't seen it. It is a series of dots. It looks fonfusing but its not. That's about it.

I don't have a picture of a braille writter so I just a drew one, but this will give you an idea of its basic design.

I like Braille because it's on ATM machines for the sole purpose of reducing the blind population.

It would suck reading a book.....imagine having to read it by just feeling letter by letter :o

I've got a question, why do they have braillie at the eye exam place, I went there to get a new prescription for my contacts, and next to the bathroom there was braillie under 'Men'. Now quite frankly that seems quite ironic!

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard, I'm sure if someone has extreme visual impairment they visit the eye doctor often. Or maybe theres a blind person who went to the eye doctor with someone else to give emotional support.

if they are born blind, its just as easy and normal as us reading with our eyes... I mean you can type without looking down? and you probly dont realise it if you can

Yeah, that is very true. I've actually done a design project to help visually impared individuals. We were trying to invent some sort of vibrating device that would emit and receive different waveform intensities via a piezoelectric element for amplification, which would enable them to walk around without the aid of a walking cain or seeing eye dog. It was never fully developed, but anyway, my point being this: I visited a school for the blind, and they actually read througha line of brail just as fast as I could read the same line to myself, it was quite extraordinary. :)

ive heard of people reading braille faster than normal reading... that would be cool.

They have Drive-Up ATM machines in Braile, lol. That's ironic!
