Hookah

Anyone smoke?

-Spector- 2009-01-20 04:30 PM

I never smoke.

HandOfHeaven 2009-01-20 04:36 PM

Used to smoke hookah in high school. It's quite relaxing, especially if you mix in weed!

D3V, have you started to do it?

Wallow 2009-01-20 06:19 PM

Yea, I've tried it. It gave my sister quite a fright the first time I did - I could smoke it and she couldn't, and I could make smoke rings...

Jessifer 2009-01-21 10:07 AM

I don't smoke anything. ^o^

KagomJack 2009-01-21 10:32 AM

Fucking yes I do! I love hookah. I want to buy one, but it'll have to wait a long while.

Thanatos 2009-01-21 10:37 AM

I used to own a hookah. Tobacco was not smoked in it.

KagomJack 2009-01-21 10:38 AM

I use tobacco only in hookahs. I got a pipe for pot.

Well upon getting back into the burning of greenery, I have come accustomed to smoking like a black&mild like once a week or so, when I'd go to get white owls. Not too long after I got introduced into the world of swishers and even tried hookah for the first time while pretty drunk, it was the best stuff ever. When you are drunk or even tipsy.. or hell not intoxicated at all if gives you a nice lightheadedness feeling and like above said is realllly relaxing.

I'm contemplating getting one of my own, but I really don't need to because like 4-5 friends of mine all have hookahs of their own, so if I ever want to smoke it's always readily available somewhere.

KagomJack 2009-01-22 02:40 PM

But it's nice to have one of your own for at home use.

Sovereign 2009-01-23 06:20 AM

I've never smoked out of a hookah.

D3V 2009-01-23 12:44 PM

It's intense, i'm going tomorrow tonight to a local restaurant that specializes in hookahs..

Glad you mention that, we finally have a small use one that my mom brought from overseas on the last trip she went on, i'll post it later.

And may be picking up a brand new nice one with two hoses (maybe a 2ft-er) this or next weekend. Will try and post some pics.

If anyone wants some Hookahs from Iraq I will probally be getting a few to take home with me (in less than 2 weeks) so I can resell ;)

D3V 2009-04-30 12:42 PM

Prices, sizes?

Sum Yung Guy 2009-04-30 12:43 PM

Its night right now, I will recon tomorrow and try to get pics of all the diff ones they have plus the prices.

D3V 2009-04-30 12:46 PM

That might be great, depending on how cheap they are.

Me either.
Sometimes I run inside drug stores and run up to someone, shake them as shout "this wasn't supposed to be your life!!!" and then run out.

D3V 2009-05-01 06:16 AM

Am def going tonight to our local hookah lounge, I'll grab some pictures (of the 4ft hookahs they have there). They're pretty damn sweet.

D3V 2010-07-27 04:09 PM

So I went and bought a new one about 2-3 weeks ago. It's about 3ft and I've got a few cans of shisha stored up now. I readily enjoy it, but am sad to learn recently about a 750% tobacco tax that is being pushed forward, or has already been pushed forward through the legislature. :(

!King_Amazon! 2010-07-27 05:39 PM

Is that a typo of some sort, or do you really mean a 750% tax? If so, I'm gonna need some sort of citation or information or something. That's absurd, and I don't even smoke tobacco.

Hahahaha...

D3V 2010-07-28 08:39 AM

H.R. 4439, the Tobacco Tax Parity Act of 2010 was introduced on January 13, 2010 and would raise the tax on pipe tobacco 775% from $2.8311 to $24.78 per pound.

http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h4439/show

I apologize for posting that without doing my own research. It seems it was actually proposed back in January, but hasn't gained any traction much of since then. I got some misinformation from a friend of mine, but still.

"At this time, H.R. 4439, proposed federal legislation to increase the pipe tobacco tax to the same rate of the RYO tax, has little life or attention in Congress. Lobbyists from the IPCPR the Pipe Tobacco Council (a division of the Cigar Association of America (CAA)), and others have met with key members of Congress to discuss and detail our industry’s opposition to the bill. H.R. 4439 is currently sitting in the U.S. House of Representatives’ Ways & Means Committee. No hearings or further action has been scheduled at this time nor do we expect any immediate action. Several more meetings are scheduled with Congress in the coming days. "

!King_Amazon! 2010-07-28 03:11 PM

Assuming that that's referring to "loose tobacco" like what you would use to roll your own cigarettes, it sounds like a bullshit way for cigarette companies to get people to buy their product instead of rolling their own. I don't understand why the tax would target a specific type of tobacco (which wouldn't apply to cigarettes) otherwise. That's pretty BS, IMO.

D3V 2010-07-28 03:41 PM

Exactly. They aren't even really the same things, and i'm 99% positive you're reasoning is why the proposed bill was even introduced to begin with. But reading now that the bill isn't going anywhere, i'm quite relieved. Time to go buy some more Star Buzz :)
