Those look great, still. When can we expect them to be implemented?
|
I'm going to ask for the poll to be closed tomorrow morning when I log in - it will have been open for a week, and the thread has been in New Posts long enough for those who want to vote to have voted.
If "Yes" stays ahead of "No", then hopefully ASAP. If "No" gets ahead of "Yes", then they won't get implemented. If things stay the same (8 - 5 in support of "Yes"), then Asamin's idea of an option to turn them off will be put forward because there's such a small gap between "Yes" and "No". |
Of course, realize that even if I do decide to implement this, that it is behind a long list of more important features, and even those are competing with vB3.7.

And seeing as it's looking like more people want them than don't, well, democracy and all that, you know? --- How nice, GLG. You keep telling yourself that. |

Spam tools? Sure...
And where do waves fit into the grander scheme of things, out of interest? |

One of the many different definitions of spam is: Any large, annoying, quantity of output. And an interesting backronym for spam just so happens to be stupid, pointless, annoying messages. Whilst emoticons can add effect to a sentence, waves do not, but are rather spam. I class them as spam, WW (in finding them annoying) would class them as spam. Without even having to ask I know that !K_A! would class them as spam. If you want to argue your case as to why they're not spam, then I look forward to a thread somewhere. Thus, emoticons are not spam tools, and would be good in the chatbox, particularly seeing as they're so small and unintruding. |
Could I ask for the poll to be closed now, please?
And just so that no-one tries to be sneaky and votes before an Admin can get round to closing it: Eight voted "Yes w/ 'New' Lenny emoticons" - -Spector- - Asamin - Coffeedagger - D3V - Draco2003 - Lenny - Thanatos - Wed-G And five voted "No": - Chruser - GLG - HoH - Randiun - WW --- If it were thirteen to nothing, then fine, but seeing as there are so many against it, I'll formally put forward Asamin's idea: Quote:

------ I also think if we take the time to make a emote option we should also make one concerning avatars and sigs. There are some that I would like to block. |
User CP|User Options|Thread Display Options|Visible Post Elements
Which would be the same granularity as the proposed option. |
Doesn't that block all avatars and sigs though?
I am talking about just one guy. Just blocking one person. Not all. |
I concur with Lenny, fuck the waves.

Just add smiley faces, that's it. You guys are overcomplicating the matter. If someone spams using them, ban them. If you don't like them, don't use them. It's as simple as that.
|
Good point. Just make the simple ones. Smile, frown. the ones everyone uses all the time.
