Remember the loading screen between acts in D2? Or the rather long load time when you enter a new area? (I still remember the numerous time my party got decimated by Duriel.. granted that has nothing to do with loading screen)

Here's some news regarding loading screen:
There won't be any.

"There aren't any loading screens. Personally I think it's amazing and I don't understand the magic the programmers have worked, but the game is instant or near instant. The same is true for initial game load. Start up the game, create a character, click a button and the game world shows up. No waiting and no real discernible pause. Mileage may vary slightly of course, but it would (from what I've seen) be in the realm of a second or two second pause at most."

No waiting and no real discernible pause.

Blizzard Rep Bashiok puts it best: "ITS MAGIC."

I can't wait. I can remember waiting on my dialup more than anything half the times, or the lack of RAM being that I had to wait, and once I upgraded I never really saw any lag times. Only slightly sometimes server side. This is good though hopefully there will be no lag, anywhere in the game. We need real time real time.

Diablo 2 lags on my computer now, but probably for different reasons.

There's no loading screen when hearthing into Ironforge from Booty Bay, either, and we all know how that turns out.

It's probably because your computer has to dumb itself down to play within the boundaries of Diablo 2. Aka 680x440 or w/e the video settings are.
