I believe they have before, that's one thing I do like about Blizzard, they have a sense of humor.

Blizzard made all of the wow forums proper. Giving everyone correct english, that was their April Fools joke, and seeing as it's now the 2nd and the character is still up, I think it might just be real.

Look on the WoW main page. They list all of the april fool's day stuff. The archivist is included. It's not real.
