Lightning Sorc Help

Alright, so what merc should I be using to kill LI's, and what would be the best gear to load him/her up with?

Act 2 Holy Freeze merc. Not sure on armor, but infinity is a must for the weapon.

Will he be needing life leech at all, or should I be able to kill much fast with the aura from the weapon??

The only area I had issues was hell: chaos sanc. Iron maiden makes it a pain in the ass to keep the merc aura up as well as kill all the immunes. What I did was stuck an infinity runeword on a very low damage polearm, like a bill. That way my merc could wack himself a few times with ironmaiden and I could see see it in time to save him.

This is what I did too, the only thing is then he isn't much help when you have a monster that you just aren't hurting and he is doing about 20 damage a hit.

Right, I wanna really use him for the Lightning Immunes when I can't hurt them... Oh well, I'll just revive him in Iron Maiden messes him up.

Then you better have a lot of money, cuz Iron Maiden will mess him up a lot. It is the melee's worst nightmare, especially in Hell where they are returning huge amounts of damage. To put it in perspective, Iron Maiden on normal would kill hacked 1 player chars that could 1hit /p 8 hell baal
