Oh My God my keyboard works! Moving on then

The Democrats in congress decide not to vote on a bill that prevents telecom companies who help the government spy on suspected terrorists without warrants from being sued. Now to me it is an infringement on our rights to privace and our rights against illegal search and seizure, but I do not think that is not the reason the democrats refuse to pass or extend it or whatever.

They are letting it expire because "Court records and campaign contribution data reveal that 66 trial lawyers representing plaintiffs in lawsuits against these phone companies donated at least $1.5 million to Democrats, including 44 current Democratic senators" From http://www.townhall.com/columnists/AmandaCarpenter/2008/02/13/obama,_hillary,_dems_take_fisa_trial_lawyer_cash

If this isn't a fine example of government corruption I don't know what is

Sure. Why not remove some checks and balances.

You think that without the contributions the democrats would have voted otherwise?

Hmm that is a good point, but I think that may be so, I definitly think they would have put more thought into it.
