What Cell and Provider does everyone have?

I've got a newer Model NOKIA, not exactly sure what kind it is though, it's a flip phone, works pretty good as of now.. .who knows what the future might hold though (they don't holdup very well..)

And we're running through T-Mobile right now, it's alright I mean, it could definately be better, but you can't beat MyFavevs and free N+W

You get T-Mobile in the US? Well I'll be... thought it was an English provider.

I've got a Sony Ericsson K800i (http://e-katalog.ru/jpg_zoom1/46654.jpg), and I'm with Orange.

Motorola Q with Verizon. I don't know about other places, but T-Mobile has horrible service in Maryland.

D3V

Where I live I don't get really any service, with any provider. It's not until I get off of our road til I get service again, damn Boonies.

Where I live, the only provider we can get reception from is Orange.

It's amusing when people come over and have to walk to the top of the lane to get a signal, simply because they're not with orange.

I have an LG VX8100 and im with Telus. I get great service/reception from them no matter where I am. I find its better than Rogers. Aliant wasn't bad, but there plans cost more than the Telus one I got and the phone only cost $60 witha 3yr contract. The bill is around $35/month. I can't complain, its a camera/MP3 phone to.

I'm from NS, Canada. It's pretty much the same all across the country though.

You can get 1, 2 and 3 year contracts. I could have gotten a 2yr contract with this phone, but then I would have had to pay the full cost of the phone. It was one of those deals where if you sigh up for 3yrs, you can get this phone for x amount (being a hell of a lot cheaper). My last phone was a Samsung that I got with aliant, for $25 with a 2year contract (gave it to my sister last year since it was under parents name and got the LG from telus), which is normally $250 if I didn't get the 2 year contract. It's that simple and the phone is holding up great for being a year old. No problems from it. Now, in another year and a half (2.5 years from start of contract), I can get a new phone with a deal by sort of renewing my contract, of course depending on what they are offering at the time. They could offer a phone I want for like $50 if you sign up for another 2years and so on.

Im surprised you didn't get those types of options, so where are you from again? I find it strange that you haven't heard of that type of stuff...

Vegas, NV.

We have kinda deals like that...if you sign a 2 yr contract instead of paying month by month you save A LOT of money in txting and nights and weekends. And we get like %10 off a new phone if you sign another 2 yr contract....i still paid like $400 for mine when I bought it new.

I thought most 2-year contract dealers cream themselves when you signup with them, so you usually get the phone for free.

Month to month is not commonly available outside of Prepaid type services as a startup plan.

I have the Green Chocolate (http://us.lge.com/products/model/detail/mobile%20phones_select%20by%20carrier_verizon_CHOC OLATE%20-%20GREEN.jhtml) from Verizon.

It's a piece of shit, though. The battery only lasts 1 day, and that's only if you don't use any special features. I've got about 150 songs on it, which is the main reason I still have it. I either want the newer Chocolate that just came out or an upgrade to a diff. Verizon phone. I've used Verizon for about 5 years now and I've always been satisfied with them.

I'm so close to getting a new phone, getting tired of this "Nokia 6133" The screen is cracked ( not it's fault ) but the picture quality has dropped 10 folds, the speaker hardly works I HAVE to use speakerphone just to hear whoever i'm talking to, and signal randomly disappears wherever I go. And the powerbutton doesn't work anymore. And this phone is only 6 months old and I hardly ever use it

I got a letter from my local Verizon store the other day. They claim that I'm "eligible" for a new phone so long as I upgrade my plan to include another line.

Another line? I'm sure they have my age and marital status and, hell, my phone records on file, for that matter. They should realize that I have no interest whatsoever in another line, unless they think I'm interested in texting on one phone while talking to someone on the other. No thanks, Verizon. No thanks.

The kicker is the fact that another local Verizon store sent me a nearly identical letter two days later. Goddamnit! Do your research, leave me alone and stop wasting paper!

I'm done now.

1. Incredibly short battery life.

Well, my K800i died at the start of November, to my disappointment.

From that, I went to a Samsung B130 - screen the size of a postage stamp, horrible clicky buttons... basically the cheapest bit of plastic a tenner could buy me. After about a month of using it, I gave up - the microphone is so useless that it's quicker to walk to wherever the person on the other end is calling from and shout down their ear than try and get them to understand what I'm trying to say through the phone.

http://www.gsmhelpdesk.nl/toestellen/Samsung-B130.jpg

Today I ordered a new phone, and my first contract deal (through the power of the intarwebs, I've managed to get £8 a month knocked off, which translates into a saving of about £124. The contract in total is around £315, which I find amazing - to get the same perks on Pay As You Go would mean a £30 top-up each month, plus the cost of the phone: a whopping £745!). Again I'm with Orange (they're the only provider with whom I have signal at home and at Uni). The phone:

Sony Ericsson C902

Here's the old K800i:

http://regmedia.co.uk/2006/08/03/se_k800i_1.jpg

I'm going to miss the joystick, but I'm incredibly happy that I've got the C902. :D I've even been able to persuade my parents to pay for the first twelve months of the contract, and put a tenner towards the remaining six months. Silver tongue for the win!

Still got my Sony Ericsson C902, but I'm looking to upgrade it to this:

http://www.yugatech.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/htc-hero.jpg

It's the HTC Hero - the latest Android phone from HTC. It's not a "with Google" phone, so I'll have to manually update Android (I don't know how well it will work, seeing as the UI - HTC Sense - is built on top of Android. There'll probably be a few breakages with each new firmware, so I think if I do get one I'll wait for the bugs to be ironed out for each update), but that doesn't bother me.

The model I'd get (from Orange) is Graphite coloured:

http://www.softsailor.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/HTC-Hero-Graphite.jpg

I'll have to work a bit longer still - the upgrade will cost me £100 for the handset, and however much to change my contract (an extra £15 a month for another 12 months maybe), I think.

---

The Orange UK site tells me that the HTC Hero is available on my current contract, with £166 for the handset. Seeing as I won't need to change contract, I'm even more tempted by it now! I'm working again this Summer, and I've not got much to buy, so £166 for the phone is no biggy. And maybe £30 for a Class 6 16gb microSD card (apparently it's slight lag problems can be minimised massively with a good microSD card, as the phone stores a swapfile on the memory card. Thus, the faster and bigger the card, the faster the phone).

Communication, organiser, maps, instrument tuner, note taking, photo taking, web browsing, and so on. Everything that my current phone does, really. My current phone (HTC Hero) has changed the way I do things - I'm so much more organised now, and have got used to having everything at my fingertips.

And my current phone will be my development phone - I want to start building apps for Android, and I don't particularly want to put things on a phone that I use constantly.

It's been a minute, but just wanted to say my Camaro had a stroke and uncontrollable bowel movements simultaneously, so I had to get a new one. Got me an HTC Incredible. Still with Verizon, but I love my phone. 8 Megapixel camera, too. I have a Super Nintendo and Gameboy Advance emulators on it, though no ROMs as of this time. No physical keyboard makes them difficult to use. I actually like the touch-screen keyboard, though; the haptic feedback helps somewhat. Music player option and speaker is pretty good and loud.

Best thing is, so far all the apps I got have been free, and I see no real reason to pay for apps. They do all kinda look cookie-cutter-ish, though.

How you like your HTC? I have a MyTouch so it's basically the same thing, great platforms!

Oooh, nice phone, the Incredible. I'm slightly jealous. :p

I've been using Android phones for nearly a year (HTC Hero and now a Desire), and haven't paid for a single app yet. :)
