Little help with stats please.

Just a quick question really, kinda stuck on how high/low to set character stats in RM2K3, aswell as monster stats and item bonuses, is there anyone who knows the math used say attack - defence = damage done, or something similar?

RM2k3 has preset stats(If you don't already know) that are descent. I ,for one, changed mine to make the lvl 1 lower then normal and lvl 99 higher than normal, then had it auto configure the rest on each stat. I would also lower the enemies abilities at the start of the game, thus making it seem more stylish(hate seeing a lvl 1 enemy have hp of 300-500 and attacks that do 100+ dmg).
