Having multiple active accounts IS doing something wrong on these forums. If this is found out, one of the accounts is banned or the accounts get merged. If you do this while banned, both accounts will be perm banned. Sovereigns alternate account was banned. My alternate account is needed for permissions testing as an admin and is the only exception to these rules. This is why the fucking database is saved every week. "PUH LEASE", don't try and act so cool. Titus, I understand what you're saying. I believe similar to you -- plotting something is not concrete, and therefore should not be bases for punishment. I also agree that D3V has provided some productive activity to the forums. He had his period of being an absolute moron, and then seemed to become more involved in the up-keep of the forums and trying to make it somewhat enjoyable. I agree with you up to that point.

I do believe he should be banned, though. Even now, his behavior was erratic, and while he provided some useful articles and meaningful conversation, his negative comments canceled that out. It is by the rules that were set when you were still an admin that D3V has been banned. His fickle behavior was just too much to put up with. Whether Sovereign has some personal vandetta with D3V is a question you should ask Sovereign. It certainly does not seem that way in my eyes, in fact, it seems that D3V has held a grudge against Sovereign ever since he became a moderator. Now, I remember back when Sovereign became a sup-mod that many people said that he had not been around long enough to be a moderator, but he certainly has been now, and it's been 1-2 years since he became moderator. Well, a DDoS is not terribly bad. If he wanted to do something to Zel, I'm sure he could have done much worse. From a security standpoint, a DDoS is like a prank. It's annoying, but not too harmful.

But, I did overlook that little fact about Mantra. I forgot that he DDoS'd Zel, and I do believe that he should be perm banned for it. Then again, he was, and later came back to Zel because he was deemed worthy by staff, I would suppose.

Perhaps something similar could happen to D3V if he shows significant improvement. As you've already stated, he has improved much already, but his behavior is inconsistent and unpredicatable. As for the pem ban, in my personal opinion, it may have been a bit harsh, but I can't say I didn't expect it. I think it's obvious he deserved a temp ban for his numerous outbursts, many of which I've seen, but go largely unnoticed because I suppose they've already been deleted, and when you warn and ban someone enough, you have to take a greater measure of prevention of such behavior in the future, which in this case lead to a perm ban. Sovereign has already stated that it wasn't only him that voted on banning D3V, so I honestly doubt that it was some personal crusade that Sovereign is carrying out against D3V when the staff voted unanimously to ban him. What would you have done differently were you in Sov's position and constantly getting harassed?

I really do hope to see D3V back here. He does have many positive things to contribute to this forum, and we've seen that before. Unforunately, that doesn't cancel out the negatives. Were he to come back honestly attempting to back off Sovereign, I would be all for him coming back. Until then, though, I do believe he should serve a little time banned for what he's already done. A perm ban can always be lifted if the situation arises.

D3V, if you read this, it's nothing personal. I've honestly grown to like you over the past year or so, but my statement still stands. I think the Temp Ban was the correct choice by the staff, and a perm ban was coming soon anyway. Sorry I missed you last night on aim, I did read what you said, though. Actually, I just waste time meeting up with my friends, drink a few beers, stare at them and talk, then meet up with members of the opposite sex, have sex, and also have meaningful relationships that don't get typed on piece of hardware and software. Difference being, I actually physically contribute to the world, and the people in it. I actually realize that if everyone thought the way you did, the world would eventually become non-existent (Unless you plan on finding a way to procreate over the internet).

He can make people feel better or worse about themselfes using the internet. So in a way even if it's indirectly so, he can still contribute without really physically contributing. He's able to influence someones actions/feelings by using the internet much like you do while physically meeting with someone. Sure the impact might not be as big as with you meeting someone IRL, but at least it's something. It's almost impossible NOT to contribute to this world. Every little thing we do has some sort of impact on the world around us, no matter how little it may be.

He still consumes food, drinks, energy, buys computers, internet and mini fridges...Basically everything he spends money on is another mans/womens earnings.

I agree. Well, I agree with that as far as the human race is concerned. The world would be just fine, if not better off without us, but as far as the human race goes, I agree. The only thing is, like it's been stated above, everything you or I or Sov does has some sort of impact on this world. It's not for us to judge who is doing more or less.

Once again, agreed. You guys have both made strong points. First of all, as Sov said, it wasn't his sole decision to ban D3V. On the other hand, while I do believe that D3V needed to serve some time for his actions, a perm-ban seems a bit harsh to me. But again, that's only my opinion. But hopefully the feud is over between you two guys now, because honestly, you two are pretty respected guys around here, and I guess it sort of hurts this place when such a fight goes on. It's so much nicer when this place is peaceful, and all the senior members get along. It's only fun to pick on Zonalon, and such, because those guys are idiots.
