Why is it again that you can't get on AIM? I miss talking to you sexy.

I think his work's computers block him from the AIM website.

Why can't you just install AIM?

The only online access I have is at work and I'm not allowed to download anything to these comps. I tried that before and got chewed out for it.

Tell your boss it is to improve communications.

Have you considered trying to download trillian and using that? Then delete it after you are done for the night?

Just use AIM Express. No download, just plug in your SN and vuala!

He uses Quick Buddy. It usually doesn't work. He can't use AIM express from lack of flash player or java or something.

I've tried AIM Express and either these comps don't have adequate Java requirements to run it, or they don't use a new enough version of IE. Like I said, I can't download anything, so I can't update those two things.

So, my only option is the inferior AIM Quick Buddy, which for some reason hasn't been working for a number of months, but has started sporadically working in the last week or two.

By the way, it's "voila".

The only place he has access to the internet is at work so that would be hard wouldn't it?

Have you tried ICQ2Go (http://go.icq.com)? It talks to AIM and in my experience works with stronger security restrictions and such than the AIM web-based client. Only thing is that you'd need to get an ICQ number and tell all your buddies about it.
