Funny D2 storys from way way way back...

Remember the old days of D2 Classic? When it was just D2 and there was no word of an expansion pack. Back when the there were 10 people total on the USWest hardcore ladder, and the highest was lvl16. Man I did some STUPID things back then. My first D2 character was a zon. I remember actually playing up to Act3 and not once using the "show items" button. I would just go by the shimmering on the ground and the sound items make when they drop.... Whenever I hear a ring drop I would scramble to pick them up. Sometimes it took a really long time to find those items I thought I heard.... lol what a Noob I was...

Anyone else have some funny stories when they first started playing D2?

umm, i built a barbarian, for my first character. I only put stat points into strength. so by like level 80 i had like 400 strength, and everything else was the same from when i first got the cahracter, man he sucked. i had like 15 health lol. then i was like holy shit this guy sucks, so i put points into dex...didnt help. :rolleyes:

somthing like that happened to me,kockbloker, except it was when i was a noob in 1.09.. i didnt know alt button showed items... so i pressed a buncha buttons, and found out that 6 did 'time to die' ect ect.. did alt and it showed the items on ground, so i just pressed down on keyboard everywhere... and eventually i alt +f4'd me out of that game and i had my bro in it xfering... gosh i was such a fucking nooblit

When D2 Classic was the only D2 period I only played single player :weird:
and when the Expansion came out I desided it was time to play on battle.net...well my friend (who always played on bnet) told me to join xxx////yyy (can't remember name) and I was like sitting there...I typed xxx////yyy and it said "Doesn't Exist" and I was like WTF? so I called my friend up and he explained xxx=game name yyy=pw

This be my leet noob story ;) ;) and I feel STUPID for admiting it now ... but I did ^^ ^^

My very first D2 character was a Melee Necro when D2 hit stores. I figured out the Blood Golem+Iron Maiden thingy before I even logged onto bnet...

Anyway, my necro was now built around that whole concept. I was level 32 and going after NM Meph. He killed ANY of my golems in 1 hit, and my rare War Hammer didn't do anything to him.

So, I kept summoning a Clay Golem and kept Mephisto IM'd...

That took an hour or two.

I remember going into nm pub game a week or so after I had just got the game (and 2 maybe 2 or 3 days since I learned the show items button. lol.) and seing a glowing zon using a pike. I was like... whoo how did you get that glow dude. When that glowing zon got surrounded I tried my best to save her... Costing me my life in the process. Silly me didn't even know that it was just a valk. After all, i had put all my points into imolation arrow. Man my first build was sooo fucked up.

I killed a lv 15 zon with my lv 13 sorc with inferno because the zon kept stalking me.

I liked Bonesnap. Even my Necro and Sorc have Bonesnap in their inventory or in their hands.

My first baba had dual weapon masteries. He dual-wielded Swords and Axes. I did that because I thought that's unique and stylish. Also, he didn't have WW, but a pure frenzy baba instead.

I dueled with my 45 barb (that I'd spent 6 months levelling) and he owned with a 111 max rare gothic sword and sigons shield.

I used to play solo b4 i did online and me and my friend were upsessed with getting gold, and we thought a 400 def armor ws godly back then... dang those were the days...

It took me 4 months to figure out what all the Abbreviated names meant, like SOJ, Frosties, Occy, Shako, IK, Tal's, Trang, etc.

heres a good one. I started play d2 in a internet cafe. the asian guys next to me kept playing the game and it look like a good, fun game so i started playing it. i clikcked on the d2 icon and click single player thinking i'm playing with only one character (noobie big time) but what i found is that there were characters already there. thinking that i was so lucky i play for 6hours straight having lots of fun. then i thought i should go and get something to eat and i'll come back and play later , but when i got back there was someone else playing at that computer. so i waited until he was finished (2hours later) when i got back onto the computer i was playing the character i was playing was gone. so i asked the guy at the front desk, but he was only confused about what i was telling him. he followed me back to my computer and i show him what i was talking about. He started laughing his head off and then he explained to me what i did. i felt so stupid but the other d2 players show me how to play the game and what to look 4 also help me get some niice gear. (but ladder stuff that up). i'm looking for a clan now.....

i got a good one, when i first started classic i played on single player then tried on realm...i was pissed my weak noobish level 29 barb wasn't there...i reinstalled d2 over and over and over...then my friend told me that single and b.net were 2 different things ^_^ ^_^

I remember i used to buy skull caps of thorns and scam people with them, because they looked like tarnhelms... laughed my ass off everytime, whether it worked or not.
