MFing the PIT crazy drops

I wonder if this Pit is suppose to be a secret or something, cause no one in here is talking about it. The pit in tahome highland has some really crazy drops and the exp rocks.
in last 2 days i found ss, war travs, trang belt, mav armor, sazabi sword not to mention other lower end items.
Just about every time u kill a uniq monster there there is an elite droping. I mean countles elite white, blue and rare monarcs, shakos, balrogs, sacred, shadow etc.
Anyone else in here hunt this pit?

I had heard it was crazy, but I'm too lazy to try it myself.

Oh yeah, I remember I did try it, but I only cleared the first level and didn't find anything, then the guy tells me it's level 2 that drops good after I had left, so I thought he was just shittin me.

I do the pit all the time, it's not a secret its just the new way they do mf in 1.1. Its a lvl 85 area, I think, so it can drop most items.

I've done about 5 runs and the best thing I've found is a Lem rune, and I'm not even sure if it is good.

Too bad half of the monsters are fire immune and other half are cold immune. Makes it hard for either of my MF sorcs.

my mf is 411 hcl lvl 91 sorc max meteor/fire mast good static and like lvl 18 orb/15 cold mast i rock the pit easy and damn i love it. btw most of my finds were on the lvl 1 not lvl 2.. only things i got in lvl 2 is 2 raven frosts and thats all i think

I can clear the pit with my Multi/Strafe zon in ~4 minutes. Zon uses BOTD crusader, Enigma, and LOH. Some people say Hammerdins clear it the fastest. I disagree.

My hammerdin clears it in anywhere from 3 to 5 mins, depending on what the map is.

I dont think the qty of people helps to much with the quality of the drops - but more with the quantity of drops - which in effect gives you a better chance of getting a good item to fall per game. More items = more chances

The pit is a good spot to MF games b/c most people don't run it. You find alot of games where meph has been run already - but rarely do you find someone has run The Pit.

As I remember, the quantity of people in a game merely reduced the chances of a 'No-Drop'.

It does not improve the odds of finding unique/set items (which is based upon your MF), or better chances for exceptional/elite items to drop (which is based on Clvl).

The best char to mf the pit, i would imagine, would be a bonemancer of some kind.

I have hit the pit for several days with MF zon and gotten nothing special in terms of gear. Did get an Ist rune, but that is pure luck. This lvl 99 zon has about 475 in MF and has no problem clearing the two levels.

I find a lot of elite items, but my Unique/Set findings on like 30+ runs are limited to Goldstrike Arch, Jade Tan Do, some other useless unique, and about 15 isenharts armors and sigon's house.

I did some Pit Runs and i found Nothing.

I prefer killing Pindle other than make a "long journey" through The Pit.

Same here. I recently quit using maphack..for the third time (im paranoid of getting my acct banned, and now that i have 2 godly stuff i dont want to lose it at all, MY BOTD AND ENIGMA!!!!) and pindle has been a better choice. IT takes less time to reach him. Unfortunatly his ddrops are shit but apparently, so are most hte drops in the pit.

Drop rates in the pits are astounding, but if you can bot pindle or something, then the quanity of runs you get with pindle compared to manual pit runs.. is overwhelming :)

what would u guys say the best pit runner is all around? i try with my light trap assassin but when i come across those chicks with bows they rape the heck out of me cause there immune to light. (it just came across to me that i might wanna lvl my merc :P)

I have found a grandfather sword in the pit. I dont think mf really helps. Beucause i have none and i find tons of good items. Mf to me is worthless. I have found a gf and ik armour all with 0 mf.

MF helps, but it isn't everything. Item-hunting is mainly a lot of luck. You can help yourself by equipping MF gear, instead of it being completely random, like Runes.

I usually run it with no less then 300 MF. I have heard of people running it with 0 MF for better chances at good socketable items.

I'm tempted to remove the MF from my Javazon and run through.

Yes if you are only looking for plain eth's and socketables then u dont want any mf. Mf is magic find which would decrease ur chances of finding plain items and increase ur chances to find magic ones, just makin sure everyone knew that. Oh and i heard Chaos Sanc. has good drops 4 eths and socketables. Friend found 2 eth CS's in 1 run.

im lvling my might act 2 merc so i can do more damage with my base throw and drain a bit more (im all +skills so im lacking in mana leech, huge life leech)

Too bad it's not? On uswest, Ik armors dropped lower than Mal and Tal ARmor is less than Ist. Azures are over populated, I have sold about 3 in the past week a 5, 7, and a 10 all for mal each. You may be able to find some newb but these are the prices on Uswest Ladder Sc.... It's worthless, plus I tried it and I don't like it. So many better items like Botd, Doom, so on...

Only build worth even considering Azure is an Avenger pally. Even then, it’s a big stretch. There are a lot of better weapons around. Eth BOTD Zerker currently being #1 on my list, for ANY melee build.

My Sorc wears, Ptopaz Shako, Ist'd Occy, Um'd tal armor, Tal belt 15%, Tal ammy 2x 75/30 Nagels, 50% travs, 40% chancies. 40% gheeds, and annilius ( however you spell it ).. I find a lot of good stuff... However I have not found Gris shield! Fuck, I have however found about 20 Gris helms lol.

Edit: I forgot shield, for the fact I like to keep my res P, I use an upgraded Mosers giving good defence and 60+ res with 2 pdimond.

the Merc problem could be due to him not being in the correct spot for his level to gain exp... Just like if you went to Baal under 25, do you earn exp? No

For merc items my merc wears Levi, Eth GAze, Eth Reaper's tolll ( i need to xfer my doom polearm but no friends on guh )

i figured out why my merc wasn't lvlin and i feel stupid for not realizing till later... i was the same lvl as my merc which means he won't start lvling till you lvl.. well my merc is wearin eth gaze.. some newb armor with 1400 def or somethin like that.. and a balrog spear.... :-\
