Nope, it only works for weapons. (Not Bows though)

It is possible to cube almost anything magic item with the 3 pgems recipe...

Therefore it is possible to cube Jeweller's Archon of Whale or whatever, but it will take hundreds of thousands of tries.

Shopping it will be easier.
