I've got a theroy. I think that B.NET made up that statement about banning 112k Accounts. I mean, all the people that were banned were banned long before that. I think they just said that because they were trying to scare newbies from using the maphack. I have still continued to use the maphack for months before and after that statement, and I'm fine. I don't think they can detect it, and I think they are bluffing.

BNET Staff Lies.

They can detect certain packets. Like the socket protection, scrolling, etc.

They can, and when you think about it, some people have 10+ accounts each, so its really possibly more of an understatement if any.

2 of my accounts got banned too, so bots they can detect, but not map hack, i think, because none of my other accounts got deleted where i used mh and many of my friends accounts didn't get banned either (used mh, but not bot).

I got banned due to tradehack, not due to MapHack. For once, I am thankful that my old computer cannot support a program. (New maphack: Cannot take off the socket protection thing without downloading a program that Win95 does not support)

You probably didn't get banned for the maphack, you probably were using D2JSp , or something. I doubt its the maphack.

If all you use is the view map and the usual function from MH, they can't detect it. But if you're scrolling, aimming off-screen target, using socket protection, they are able to detect those packets.

Nice to see how this topic went off topic...

I also do not think they can detect maphack; the statement was a fraud.

Scroll Locking, and Socket Protection are detectable. Both send or use packets that, while at a glance are 100% correct, but are not 100% correct in their usage. You cannot send a start attack packet with something behind a wall, or off the screen. Similiarly, you cannot send the "swap item" packet on certain items without using Socket Protection. Similiar things in d2jsp are also detectable if your script uses them invalidly.

Fuck off D3V. All you do is spam. Save your buttfucking son of a bitch comments for someone else.

Socket Protection: Here's a fucking idea, DON'T KEEP SOCKETED
ITEMS IN YOUR INVENTORY OR STASH ON BOTS.

The only other thing I can think of that would be detectable would be "fast cast". I can't explain what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's detectable.
